Powers come before multiplication and division, which come before addition and subtraction. Use parentheses when in doubt: 2 + 3 × 4 = 14, but (2 + 3) × 4 = 20.

How do I find the sine in degrees?
Keep Degrees selected and enter sin(30): the result is 0.5.
How do I raise a number to a power?
Use ^: 2^10 = 1024.
How do I take a square root?
Use √: √(144) = 12.
What’s the difference between log and ln?
log is base 10; ln is the natural logarithm (base e).
